Course of treatment

Unlike medication that typically targets a specific symptom, acupuncture works on the entire organism. It strengthens the organs/meridians, allowing the body to "heal itself." It is common to experience improvement after an acupuncture treatment, followed by further improvements, and so on.

What does treatment cost?

Each treatment costs 450 kr.

Noshow’s, cancelation and change of time.

In case of absence from treatment, payment for a full treatment will be required.
In the event of cancellation or rescheduling within 24 hours before the treatment, half of the treatment price will be charged.

Safety

Only sterile disposable needles that are specially made for acupuncture are used. Acupuncture is a safe form of treatment, and it does not harm nerves or nerve pathways.
Other possible uses include:
tobacco cessation - chronic fatigue - back problems - asthma - depression - weight loss.

Pain gates

In addition to activating the body's own morphine system, various other changes occur in the nervous system that can have a pain-relieving effect. There is a so-called "pain gate" (gate control) in the spinal cord. When this pain gate is closed during acupuncture treatment, the perception of pain disappears, meaning that the pain is effectively gone. In cases where we cannot cure the patient, we can block the pain in this way, for example in relation to arthritis or certain cancer pains.

Blood circulation

The circulatory system consists of blood vessels and the heart, and it is largely regulated by the autonomic nervous system, which plays a significant role in the body's blood circulation in most therapeutic situations. Acupuncture can increase blood flow, allowing oxygen and other nutrients to better reach various parts of the body, while also facilitating the more effective removal of waste products. I have actually saved the legs of several patients with poor circulation. All of them are doing well today. There is also a significant enhancement of the body's immune defense. For example, the number of white blood cells can quadruple after an acupuncture treatment, which brings the immune system and blood pressure into balance. Cracked joint fluid is activated, making the joints more flexible.

Reactions
It is natural for certain reactions to occur in the body after acupuncture treatment. These are signs that the treatment has initiated a detoxification process. In most cases, improvement in condition follows, but it is not unusual to experience fatigue, tingling sensations in the body, dizziness, and strongly smelling urine and feces. It is advisable to drink plenty of water after each treatment to help flush out waste products from the body. Doctor-prescribed treatment should not be stopped without the doctor's permission.

How many treatments?

If one comes in with a back pain (sciatica) the same day it occurs, it can mostly be managed with one treatment. Otherwise, it is very difficult to predict how many treatments will be necessary. The average lies between 6-10 treatments, but as mentioned, it depends on the individual condition. Some severe chronic conditions may need to be treated over 30 times. Some patients with "incurable" eye and cancer conditions require very intensive treatment at the beginning. After that, they should expect about one treatment per month when we have improved the condition as much as possible. Based on my experience, I know that I can help approximately 80% of the patients I treat (except for cancer and eye patients, where the results are somewhat less favorable). Unlike cancer and eye patients, I also know that there should be an improvement after 4-5 treatments. If there is none, I stop further treatment (sometimes a change occurs within a few weeks). In cases of intense pain, there should be a significant improvement after 1-3 treatments; otherwise, we cannot do anything, and we naturally inform the patient of this. However, it is very rare that we cannot achieve some relief of pain with the first treatment.
